Imli Foods recently commissioned me to create a distinctive creation for it’s main interior wall.
And thus Maa ‘AnnaPurna’ in the unique ‘ZapinFusion’ style was created!!
In the Indian mythology, we have a God or Goddess governing every object in this universe. Annapurna Devi is the goddess for food and nourishment and she is is the embodiment of goddess Parvati. Her origins are traced back to the holy city of Varanasi/ Benaras/Kashi and she is the the wife of Kashi Vishweshwar, the lord of the city. If you look closely, you will realize Maa is holding in each of her hands a particular and significant item. Each one of them symbolizes our FIVE TASTE BUDS. Thus, you will see a Sugar Candy (symbolizing sweet), a Chilly (hot and spicy), a Salt shaker (salty), a bitter gourd (‘Karela’ for bitterness) and a Lemon (sour). Do note the western relevance of these objects to the backdrop of a completely traditional depiction.
The 6th hand is for blessings suggesting that no one in the world should go hungry.
In the top right corner, the words ‘Shreem, Hreem and Kleem’ depict Maa AnnaPurna’s ‘Bija-aksharas’ (seed-letters which can be used as a powerful Mantra also)
At the bottom, the triangle represents the divine ‘Shakti’ coming down and energizing the universe.
P.S: Don’t miss the 2 ‘Imlis’ integrated within the creation for Imli Foods’ brand relevance purpose!!
